Our final day in Cascas

More donkey traffic than some days. In addition to the donkeys was our old Suburban that we stuff about 18 people in for a run up or down the hill.

Church was very special – I think it was 13 baptisms! But I’ll admit once again it was the kids that caught my eye… or my lens. The children’s story was a VERY dramatic expressive rendition of Noah and the flood. The kids were captivated! Some almost looked scared. One little boy right behind the storyteller seemed especially enthralled.

Mid afternoon six of us left, on our way to Ecuador. We had time for one group photo while our bags were strapped to the roof of our van. We are in the street right in front of our hotel.

So the six of us arrived in Huanchaco, a cute little beach town about 5 minutes from the airport where we fly out first thing in the morning. We had dinner in a little beachfront restaurant, and a walk along the beach to soak in the fresh cool air. You will notice some of the local boats – they are made of reeds, and pointed on one end and chopped off looking in the back, so they stand them up against the sea wall when not in use.
